- Subject-specific knowledge in the fields of physics, mathematics, organic chemistry, food chemistry, microbiology, and process engineering (min. 70 points)

Selection criteria
- Overall grade of the first-level degree
- Subject-specific coursework and examinations
- Relevant professional activities
Relevant vocational training, such as laboratory technician (natural sciences, medicine); technical assistant (natural sciences, medicine);
Completed vocational training in the food industry, chemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, or biotechnological industry;
Relevant work experience, such as an industrial internship with a minimum duration of 3 months, or
A stay abroad at a university within the EU, Switzerland, Great Britain, USA, or Japan with a minimum duration of 3 months.
A Bachelor’s or equivalent degree completed at a domestic or foreign university that meets the following criteria:
- program lasted a minimum of three years and awarded a minimum of 180 ECTS credits
- program with a profile in the natural sciences or engineering.
Accepted are Bachelor’s degrees in:
- food science and biotechnology
- food technology
- food engineering
- food chemistry
- biotechnology
- process technology
- the Bachelor’s program in _Ernährungswissenschaft_ at the University of Hohenheim
The selection committee may recognize further programs in the natural sciences or engineering as equal to those listed above.

University Entrance Qualification (i.e. your secondary school leaving certificate, high-school diploma, A-level certificate, etc.) in original form, with certified translations into English or German (if issued in another language). This is needed for statistical purposes only and does not influence your admission for the program.
Ranking or recommendation letter, if additional proof is needed to show that the final grade of your previous degree was actually above average. If your GPA is numerically below average (2.5 on the German scale), then you will need to acquire a ranking document from your university proving that you were in the top half of your class.
Proof of professional/practical experience in relevant areas, and/or of stays abroad of at least 3 months (optional)
APS Certificate (Akademische Prüfstelle), only for applicants from India, China and Vietnam.
Certified copy of your final degree certificate and the transcript of records including the average grade of your undergraduate degree which provides information on the contents of your previous study program.
