University of Oldenburg Oldenburg
English Studies is a Master of Arts at the University of Oldenburg that can be studied entirely in English. It takes 4 semesters (120 ECTS), part-time study is possible, admission is free, and you can start in winter or summer. You build your own profile in English literatures, American or British studies, language and society (sociolinguistics), and language and cognition (cognitive linguistics), focusing on one area or combining all four. An interdisciplinary module in languages and cultural studies, a professionalisation area of up to 15 credits and a Master's thesis complete the programme, and you have wide freedom to choose modules. You can spend time abroad at exchange partners in Europe, North America and Australia. Requirements include a Bachelor's in English or American studies or a related field with at least 60 credits, and English at C1. Applicants from outside Germany also need German at DSH-1 or TestDaF 3.
