Bachelor's degree in food science or comparable degree. Minimum standard period of study: 6 semesters.
If the bachelor's certificate is not yet available by the application deadline, the certificate that 150 ECTS have been completed in the bachelor's degree and that it can be expected that the bachelor's degree is sufficient is sufficient It will be obtained no later than four weeks after the start of lectures in the first semester (copy of the registration for the bachelor's thesis).
Proof of English language skills at least at level B2 (certificate of the degree achieved); alternatively: proof of being a native speaker or longer-term stays (at least one year, academic background) in English-speaking countries, e.g. B. Year abroad (certificates), if not a native speaker.

All places are awarded according to the ranking list based on the BSc final grade. If the BSc final grades are the same, the draw decides the ranking.
There is a semester fee of approximately EUR 400 per semester, including a semester ticket for Hanover and Lower Saxony.
A personal laptop is required to process tasks and individual modules.

(1) The prerequisite for admission to the Master's degree program is that the applicant must applicant either a) at a German university or a university belonging to one of the Bologna signature states a relevant Bachelor's degree with a sufficiently recognizable connection to the field of food science/technology (in particular, but not conclusively, in the following specializations Food technology, beverage technology, food chemistry, process engineering or engineering, chemical engineering, biotechnology, veterinary medicine or biology) or b) another relevant professional qualification in the natural sciences with a sufficiently recognizable degree with a sufficiently recognizable connection to food science/technology of at least at least 6 semesters, or c) an equivalent relevant degree from another foreign university with a sufficiently recognizable with a sufficiently recognizable connection to food science/technology. The equivalence of a foreign degree is assessed in accordance with the assessment proposals of the Central Office for Foreign Education at the Permanent Secretariat of the Standing Conference of Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (http://www.anabin.kmk.org). (2) By way of derogation from paragraph 1, applicants may also be admitted whose Bachelor's degree is not yet available at the time of application if at least 150 ECTS credit points have been earned and it is expected that the Bachelor's degree will be obtained at the latest four weeks after the start of lectures in the first semester at the latest. From the previous average grade is to be determined from the previous examination results, which is taken into account in the selection procedure regardless of whether the result of the Bachelor's examination differs from this. (3) Applicants who neither have a German higher education entrance qualification nor have obtained their Bachelor's degree at a German university must also have also have knowledge of the German language at at least A1 level and submit corresponding proof.
