In your thesis you will develop algorithms for train localization based on distance-dependent FRMCS measurements and suitable tracking filters for rail traffic. You will work in particular with realistic radio propagation models to account for local effects such as multipath propagation and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) propagation. In addition to train-ground links, you will extend train localization to FRMCS-compliant 5G side-links and 5G/6G satellite networks.
