A letter of motivation in English, which should contain details on the following points: − Reasons for the special interests in the Master's program
Criteria for the evaluation of the letter are a specific reference to the study program, a distinct explanation of the applicant’s own qualification and qualification goals, particularly regarding the connection between the course of studies and future career aspirations, as well as the applicant’s motivation being in line with the focus of the study program.
Motivation letters should be one page maximum .
Please mention which area of specialization (Algebra, Analysis, Numerics, Statistics/Stochastics) you plan to study.

A first higher education degree qualifying for entry to a profession that was awarded in mathematics or in another program that does not significantly differ in terms of content, scope and requirements from the above, with course credits of at least 180 credit points (CP) in accordance with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), or credits that do not differ significantly in terms of content, scope and requirements. b. Proof of at least 90 CP in the area of mathematics. c. English language abilities that meet at least the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This requirement is met if applicants obtained their university entrance qualification or last higher education degree in English. d. German language abilities that meet at least the A1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This requirement is met if applicants obtained their university entrance qualification or last higher education degree in German. e. A letter of motivation in English, which should contain details on the following points: − Reasons for the special interests in the Master's program "Mathematics" (motivation for the application), − Specification of an area of mathematics (Algebra, Analysis, Numerical Analysis, or Statistics/Stochastics) that is intended to be studied as a specialization.
What to prepare for your application to Mathematics

− Proof of all admission requirements specified in § 1,
− Proof of English language abilities in accordance with § (1) letter c,
− Proof of German language abilities in accordance with § 1 (1) letter d,
− Curriculum vitae in tabular form,
− Description of study progress to date (course and examination credits in CP, transcript
of records or comparable document),
− A letter of motivation in accordance with § 1 (1) letter e.
Certificate of Bachelor degree or official academic transcript of your Bachelor studies. i.e. a list of successfully studied courses completed at your home university (inlcuding duration, final grades, graduation schedule), in English or German
Detailed and current curriculum vitae (CV), written in English
Letter of Motivation (see below for details), explaining your interest for enrollment in the Master of Mathematics or Master of Industrial Mathematics & Data Science program respectively, written in English
Proof of sufficient English language skills, in Englis
