How to apply
What you need to apply for English: Language, Literatures and Cultures at University of Gottingen
Applicants must provide proof of English skills. We accept any of the following: Cambridge English Scale: minimum 180 points, IELTS (minimum band 6.5), TOEFL (minimum 110 points), UNICert band III, Global Scale of English (Pearson Academic): minimum 76 points. The date of the test may not be older than two years from the moment of applying.
Candidates without German language skills who choose an English-only module package are exempt on condition that they successfully complete basic German classes during their course of study.

A minimum of 50 ECTS in modules relating to English as an academic subject are required.

a. successfully completing a course of study in which English proficiency at CEFR level C1 or higher is specified as an accredited competence objective in the Diploma Supplement within the last two years prior to the date of your application for admission or
b. at least four years of English-language secondary school education (including secondary level) together with a relevant Bachelor's degree course in English, both of which were completed in a country in which English is a national language.

2. CV in German or English with a meaningful representation of the education.
3. if necessary, a motivation letter on the reasons to study and to reflect on previous academic experience has to be submitted.
4. If neccessary, appropriate documentation to prove specific language skills for the chosen MA program, if special access requirements have been defined.
5. If neccessary, descriptions of the finished BA courses
