What you need to apply for Chemistry of Functional Molecules and Materials | Master at University of Potsdam
For an application without a formally completed degree, the following minimum number of credit points must be documented at the time of application with a current transcript of records or confirmation issued by the institution of higher education regarding the current total number of credit points up to that point:
at least 140 credit points for bachelor’s degree programs with a total of 180 credit points
at least 170 credit points for bachelor’s degree programs with a total of 210 credit points
at least 200 credit points for bachelor’s degree programs with a total of 240 credit points
A complete and up-to-date CV in tabular format
1. In general, the prerequisite for master’s degree studies at the University of Potsdam is a first academic degree qualifying for a profession, such as a bachelor’s degree, with 180 CPs. Your first degree should be in chemistry or a in a natural sciences or engineering subject relevant to the program. You should be able to provide evidence of having obtained 60 CPs in chemistry. You should also provide evidence of practical laboratory skills in general, inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry through laboratory attendance periods amounting to at least 12 CPs.
Mandatory evidence of language proficiency:
(1) Proof of English language skills that correspond at least to the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages with a certificate listed on the page [Required Language Skills for University Studies](https://www.uni-potsdam.de/en/studium/application-enrollm...) under English Language Skills Level B2 (CEFR). The Examining Board issues decisions regarding credentials on a case by case basis. Documents presented for the equivalency evaluation must contain cofirmation of evaluated language skills in listening comprehension, reading comprehension and writing skills,
(2) Proof of German language proficiency on the level of at least A1 (CEFR) with a certificate listed on the page [Required Language Skills for University Studies](https://www.uni-potsdam.de/en/studium/application-enrollm...) under German Language Skills Level A1 (CEFR).

1. Proof of a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent first degree from a university-level program
As proof, please submit your degree certificate, your final transcript, and, if available, the Diploma Supplement.
If the academic components are not clearly apparent from your final transcript, please also submit a confirmation of the modules you have completed and the credits you have earned (for example, a module performance overview, performance record, or transcript of records).

3. If applicable, confirmation of equivalence for foreign degrees
A confirmation of equivalence for foreign degrees is only required if you apply via PULS.
If you are submitting a foreign academic degree or academic records from a higher education institution not state-recognized in Germany, you must also upload a document on the evaluation of the degree as an entrance qualification for master’s studies (preliminary review documentation – Vorprüfungsdokumentation or VPD) via the admission and enrollment portal. Please refer to the following website for information on how to apply for a VPD.
Applying for a VPD does not count as an application for the degree program. Be sure to allow enough time to apply for a VPD; the average processing time at uni-assist is 4 to 6 weeks.
The VPD must be submitted via the admission and enrollment portal by the application deadline.
APS:
If you would like to apply with a degree from a recognized institution of higher education in the People's Republic of China, Vietnam or India, you must also submit the relevant APS certificate with your application documents in addition to the VPD.
