Applied research and development in the engineering sciences

Admission to the Master’s degree programme requires a degree equivalent to a German Bachelor's degree in

• an engineering discipline or a related subject area

or

• an equivalent qualification obtained in Germany or abroad

You must submit the following documents with your application:

• Certificate from your first/undergraduate degree
• If not already handed out, a confirmation of grades can be submitted as proof of the successfully completed first degree.
• If necessary, a German or English translation, issued by an officially appointed translator, must be uploaded. The overall examination grade should definitely be shown!

• If applicable, a diploma supplement or transcript of records as proof that you have achieved the required number of ECTS credits during your first/undergraduate degree.
• You do not have to provide this document if the ECTS credits are shown on the degree certificate. Applicants who studied for their first/undergraduate degree at Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences do not need to submit this document. You may need to submit a German or English translation produced by an officially appointed translator.
• If applicable, evidence of the grading system for your first/undergraduate degree
• including details of the highest and lowest possible pass grades (if this is different to the German grading system)

The following apply as proof of required English language skills for language level B2:

• Internet-based TOEFL with 72 or more points
• TOEIC with 785 or more points
• IELTS or IELTS Academic with a band score of 6.0 or higher
• Cambridge CEFR B2 First (FCE), Grade C (at least 160 points) or higher
• Cambridge CEFR C1 Advanced (CAE) with level B2 (at least 160 points) or higher 3
• TELC Certificate English B2 or higher, or TELC English University B2/C1
• Pearson PTE Academic, 60 or more points
• Trinity ISE II or higher or Trinity ISE Digital 80 points or more
• KMK-Fremdsprachenzertifikat III
• AKS UNIcert® II or higher
• At least six years of English tuition at school with a grade of at least “sufficient” in the final year (= (Fach-)Abitur year) proven by a German-language university entrance qualification or an equivalent, recognised university entrance qualification from a non-German school
• Completed English-language Bachelor's or Master's degree
• Completed English studies university degree in Germany or abroad
• Passing ‘Technical English’, ‘Business English’ or a comparable English module with a grade of 3.0 or better worth at least 4 ECTS credit points from a successfully completed German-language university degree

Native English-speaking applicants are not required to submit proof of sufficient English language skills.

If you cannot provide a German-language university entrance qualification (Abitur, Matura or similar) a proof of German language proficiency must be submitted. The following apply as proof of required German language skills for language level C1:

• Deutsches Sprachdiplom DSD level 2 (level CEFR B2/C1)
• Goethe Certificate C1 or higher
• TELC Certificate C1 or higher 2
• ÖSD Certificate C1 or higher
• Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber (German language proficiency test for university entrance for foreign applicants) DSH 2 or higher
• Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache TestDaF (German as a foreign language test for foreign applicants) TDN 4 or higher
• Certificate of an assessment test to determine the eligibility of foreign applicants to study at institutions of higher education in the Federal Republic of Germany (= Feststellungsprüfung)
• Completed German-language Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• If changing degree programme: Passing the following four compulsory IBE modules at the TH Rosenheim with a grade of 3.0 or better: Deutsch B2.1, Deutsch B2.2, Technisches Deutsch 1 – B2/C1, Technisches Deutsch 2 – B2/C1
