Tuition fees may apply for non-EU students
Bavaria has allowed its public universities to charge non-EU and non-EEA students tuition since the 2024/25 winter semester, and each one decides whether to charge and sets its own amount (for example, TU Munich charges 4,000 to 6,000 EUR per semester for Master's). Private universities set their own fees too. Check Munich University of Applied Sciences (MUAS)'s fee page for its current policy. You also pay a semester contribution (Semesterbeitrag) of roughly 100 to 400 EUR, set by each university, which often includes a public transport pass.

Accommodation
HM says Munich is known for having the highest rents in Germany, and affordable student housing is in very short supply. HM puts typical rent at about 550 to 1,000 euros a month, and the waiting time for a room in a Studentenwerk hall of residence is often 3 to 4 semesters, so start looking early.
