Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (TU Brandenburg) Cottbus
Urban and Regional Planning is a German-taught Master of Science at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), on the main campus in Cottbus. It takes 4 semesters full-time (part-time status is possible), you can start in winter or summer, and admission is not limited. It builds on your undergraduate degree and any professional practice, teaching you to apply planning instruments and procedures, work scientifically and develop your own research contributions. You can focus on Urban Design or Strategic Urban Development, or take a free-choice route to shape your own course. Teaching is closely linked with Architecture. Graduates work in public administration, planning and architecture offices, state and regional planning, research and real estate development. Requirements include a Bachelor's in urban or regional planning, architecture, landscape planning, spatial planning, human geography or a related field, and an internship by the end of the first year.
Specialization
Students are able to focus their studies through the choice of two specialized areas of study, “Urban Design” “Strategic Urban Development.” The third specialization “Free choice” - gives students a free choice of subject areas, enabling the students a “third way” to pursue a customized study course.
