M.Sc. Geological Sciences

Geological Sciences is an MSc at Freie Universität Berlin's Department of Earth Sciences. It takes 4 semesters, is taught in English and German, and you can start in the winter or summer semester. The programme looks at physical and chemical processes inside the Earth and on its surface, including natural resources and risks to places where people live. It is built around four main areas: Geodynamics and Geomaterials, Geophysics, Hydrogeology, and Paleontology. Most focus areas combine teaching with research on geohazards such as earthquakes, tsunamis and climate change, and on resources such as water, hydrocarbons, ores and building materials, and your chosen focus decides which subject areas you cover. It suits graduates in Earth Science.
