HafenCity University Hamburg (HCU Hamburg) is a modern and innovative university located in the heart of Hamburg, Germany. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) as Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT) with at least 71 points or as an Institutional Testing Program (TOEFL ITP) with at least 490 points
International English Language Testing System - Academic Test (IELTS) with at least Band 5.0
TELC - at least level B1
Proof of a functional stay of minimum 4 months in an anglophone country
Proof of minimum 20 CP's course achievement in an anglophone study-programme
The advanced technical college certificate or the final grade certificate of year 12 or 13 of Germany secondary school in each case with the grade satisfactory (minimum 3,0 or 8 Points according to the German grade system in secondary school)
Attendance of minimum one year at a general-education school

In order to be prepared for everyday life and work in Germany, students may attend German language courses at different levels at the HafenCity University Hamburg.
1\. Proving first academic degree- The proof of your first academic degree have to submit until the 15th of the second month of the second master semester. If you haven't acquired your first academic degree in time you will be exmatriculated.
2\. German Language skills
Applicants who aquired their first academic degree abroad, have to prove sufficient German language skills
(A) If you apply for the English Master REAP or for the Master Geodesy and Geoinformatics with the specialisation Hydrography, than the proof of sufficient German language skills is not necessary.
3\. English language skills;
(a) Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) as
Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT) with at least 71 points or as an Institutional Testing Program (TOEFL ITP) with at least 490 points
International English Language Testing System - Academic Test (IELTS) with at least Band 5.0
4\. Bachelor’s degree in hydrography, geomatics, or a related field. A satisfactory score on the Bachelor’s examination is not required anymore.

Applicants with a non-German university degree have to apply via uni-assist and the ahoi application portal of the HafenCity University.
First step:
You can submit your application at uni-assist starting from 1 March each year for the following winter semester. Uni-assist needs up to six weeks for checking the certificates. Therefore, we recommend that applicants submit the documents at uni-assist early enough to keep the application deadline of the HCU in our ahoi portal, which is 15 July for the following winter semester.
Second step:
In addition, all applicants have to apply directly at HCU via the ahoi online application portal (1 June - 15 July): https://www.hcu-hamburg.de/en/sv/for-prospective-students
The master programme Geodesy and Geoinformatics is not restricted. Applicants who fulfil the admission requirements will be admitted. There will be neither a selection procedure nor a creating of a ranking list.
