1. Proof of a Bachelor's degree or a degree from a university in Germany or abroad that does not differ significantly from it:
2. aa) in Geography/Human Geography with at least 130 CP in Geography modules or
3. bb) in Geography with a focus on physical geography or less than 130 CP in geography modules or in a geography-relevant social or cultural science subject.
4. In the case of letter bb), the examination board decides on the existence of geographical relevance. If a degree within the meaning of letter bb) has been obtained, enrolment can be granted subject to the provision of additional coursework and examinations or the reading of English from the Bachelor's degree programme in Geography to the extent of a maximum of 30 CP. The examination board regulates the modules in which the achievements are to be completed;
5. these achievements are not part of the Master's examination. If the requirement is not met within the first year of study, it is usually no longer possible to continue the programme. Re-registration for the following semester is denied.

8. bb. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a score of at least 213 (computer-based test, CBT), 79 (internet-based test, IBT), 550 (paper-based test, PBT) or
9. cc. IELTS with a score of at least 5.5 or
10. dd. First Certificate in English (University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations) or higher level (Advanced (CAE) or Proficiency (CPE)) or
11. ee. TELC English B2.
12. The test date must be no more than three years old at the time of the application deadline.
13. If the above-mentioned certificate of completion of the test is not available at the time of application, admission can be granted subject to the proviso that the certificate is submitted together with the test result by the end of the semester of the start of studies at the latest. If the proof is not provided on time or the test result does not meet the requirements, the admission expires.
14. Your application for recognition will be processed on the basis of the information provided online and uploaded documents. You will receive your certificate of recognition online. You can use this certificate to apply to study at JGU.
