Graduates of the seven-semester bachelor's degree programme in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Kiel University will have access to their studies without further professional requirements.
Without prejudice to the required language requirements, graduates of other courses of study receive access to studies according to the qualification statute if the submitted university degree does not have any substantial differences compared to the Bachelor's degree programme in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Kiel University.
For the determination of whether there are substantial differences within the meaning of paragraph 2, a formal application for determination of suitability must be submitted within the deadline announced on the website of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. The corresponding application deadline is determined by the Chairman of the Examination Committee.
The application must be submitted:
1. the bachelor's certificate or – if the degree certificate is not yet available – an official overview of services. The respective document must be used the title of the
contain completed modules and the scored grades and should include information on the scope of the individual modules, for example in the form of credit points.
2. the module handbook or a comparable document, which is part of the Bachelor's degree programme, forms of teaching, teaching content and learning objectives of
individual modules will be revealed.

According to the study qualification statutes, the following language requirements apply, which must be proven when enrolling:
Knowledge of English at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), for example by:
TOEFL® IBT (at least 72 points) or
GRE®revised General tests with a percentile of at least 22% in the “Verbal Reasoning” section or
Cambridge Proficiency or
Oxford Higher Certificate or
International Certificate Conference ICC Stage 3 (Technical) or
IELTS (minimum 6.0 points)).
Graduates of the CAU bachelor's degree programme, on which this master's degree programme is based and for which the required requirements have already been proven, do not have to prove these requirements once again.

Graduates from the seven-semester Bachelor’s degree programme in Electrical and Information Engineering at Kiel University are admitted to the Master’s degree programme without any further technical requirements. Notwithstanding the language requirements in accordance with the study qualification rules ("Studienqualifikationssatzung"), graduates from other degree programmes and other institutions of higher education are admitted if the university degree of the graduate in question shows no substantial differences to the Bachelor’s degree from Kiel University in terms of scope and content.

For legal reasons, we are not allowed to accept any other proof. In the case of a direct application (not via uni-assist) it is necessary that we receive your GRE test certificate from ETS
