Geophysics (Single-subject Master's degree program)

The prerequisite for admission to the Master's degree programme is a completed Bachelor's degree in the relevant field or an equivalent degree.Applicants with a university degree in a related can be granted access without conditions if they have a total of at least 50 credit points in modules of physics, geophysics and mathematics the content of which meets the entry requirements of the Master's programme and demonstrate basic knowledge of geology and prove basic knowledge of geology.

2\. If less than 50 credit points but at least 40 credit points have been earned in modules in the subjects Physics, Geophysics and Mathematics or are missing Basic knowledge of geology, access can be granted under the following conditions:

a) German language skills available: lack of knowledge is replaced by Completion of corresponding study modules of the Bachelor's programme in the first semester academic year in the maximum amount of 30 ECTS credits.

Study modules of the Bachelor's programme that are completed in fulfilment of the admission requirements can be completed to the extent of up to ten credit points in the Free Elective Modules.

b) German language skills not available: lack of knowledge can be caused by Modules from the area of Fundamentals and Specialization with a maximum of 30 ECTS credits. Modules that have been developed in fulfilment of the admission requirements

can be completed to the extent of ten credit points in the area of Free elective modules can be credited. This will increase the choice in the Basics and Specialization area. For access to the Master's programme in Geophysics for applicants with degree comparable to the Bachelor of Science outside the EHEA, the suitability of the applicants is determined by an aptitude test. The aptitude test is admitted to anyone who can provide evidence of the fulfilment of the following requirements and submits the required documents:

1\. Bachelor's degree in geophysics or a related subject, which can be regarded as was assessed by the International Center of Kiel University. The subject-specific requirements apply accordingly to those for the Bachelor's degrees professional orientation required by the EHEA, which is mentioned under paragraph 1.
