We require proof that you have completed a relevant Bachelor's degree in the fields of Data Science, Mathematics or Informatics or proof of a comparable domestic or foreign university degree qualifying you for a profession. The professionally qualifying university degree must have been passed with an overall grade of 3.2 (German grade scale, lower is better) or 7.3 grade points (higher is better) or better in accordance with § 28 of the General Provisions.
As part of the completed degree program or another degree program, a total of at least 72 credit points (CP) must have been earned in modules from the scientific discipline of Computer Science and at least 18 CP in modules from the scientific discipline of Mathematics. Of these, at least 9 CP must be allocated to competencies from the ‘Machine Learning’ module and at least 9 CP each to competencies from at least 5 of the 7 modules:
It is strongly recommended that students take responsibility for acquiring the skills from the above modules that they have not already acquired before commencing their studies.
Note that the general admission requirements are hard requirements. Admission without meeting them is not possible.

What to prepare for your application to Data Science

Your transcripts, grade reports, and/or certificates must also be uploaded as a translation in German or English by a sworn translator. We also accept documents in English without translation.

Please note that only application documents that have been uploaded completely and on time via the upload function to My assist can be considered. Please do not send application documents directly to the University of Marburg. In general, the submission of documents after the deadline is not possible.
