1. Applicants should hold a first university degree in a relevant programme with at least six semesters of study, in the natural sciences (physics, chemistry) or technical field (electrical engineering, mechatronics, renewable energy technology and energy efficiency, intelligent systems engineering, microsystems technology, environmental and industrial sensor technology) or hold an equivalent German or international degree in which they will generally have been awarded 210 ECTS credits but not less than 180 credits. If the final degree certificate was not yet received at the time of the application, a provisional degree certificate can be submitted.Candidates who completed their first degree outside of Germany must submit a VPD evaluation report from Uni-Assist. The Master commission decides on the relevance and/or equivalence of the degree and the equivalence of degrees obtained at universities outside of Germany in accordance with Art. 86 BayHIG.Proof of the special qualification by an overall examination grade of "good" (2,5) or better in the degree listed under 1.1. Alternatively, the requirement can be fulfilled by providing proof that the final grade submitted in the first degree program falls into the group of the best 51 % in the percentage ranking of overall examination grades in the degree program at the respective university. Please upload the ranking letter together with your degree documents. Letters written by professors or lecturers regarding performance in single classes will not be considered. The certificate confirming the applicant’s completion of their first degree programme among the top 51 % will have to be issued by a central university administration unit and must outline the total size of the respective cohort.Candidates who completed their first degree with less than 210 ECTS Credits, will be required to complete additional courses during the first two semesters of study. Four-year degrees from abroad are normally considered equivalent to 210 ECTS credits.Proof of sufficient practical experience. Proof of this is provided by a practical semester of study completed as part of the first degree or by a comparable continuous practical activity of at least 18 weeks. Internship confirmations must include the following information: name and contact details of the internship provider or employer, start date and end date of the internship or work activity, main tasks or responsibilities.Applicants who obtained their university entrance qualification abroad are required to submit proof of sufficient German language proficiency (DSH-1 or similar) or alternatively, proof of English language proficiency on the CEFR level B2. For more details, please check point 3.1 below.Proof of programme-specific aptitude (aptitude test as per 2.2).

Additional fee information
The 500 € service fee is charged each semester in addition to the regular semester fee and is payable upon enrolment or re-registration. The fee will be used to expand the services necessary for the support and integration of international students enrolled in English-language degree programmes at the OTH Regensburg.
The fee only applies to students who will start their studies in the winter semester 2024/2025 or later. Students who enrolled in these programmes prior to the winter semester 2024 are exempt from this regulation.
