What you need to apply for Embedded Systems at Saarland University

Bachelor's degree from a German university or an equivalent qualification from a foreign university in one of the following subject areas: engineering informatics, embedded systems, informatics or computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics or a related discipline.

3.Theoretical informatics (formal methods, formal logic, computability, understanding of complexity – particularly the complexity classes P and NP)
4.Practical informatics (functional and object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, databases, software development methods, system architecture)

GRE General Test / GATE test
Starting with applications for summer semester 2026: Applicants for Computer Science, Cybersecurity, DSAI, Embedded Systems and Visual Computing who have no degree certificate from the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) region, Switzerland, or the UK are required to upload the test result from the GRE General Test or the Indian GATE test. Other applicants may optionally include a test result. Please attach the test result to the end of your degree certificate document.
For applications until winter semester 2025/26: You may optionally attach the result from a GRE General Test to the end of your degree certificate document.
