The prerequisite for admission to the Master's program in Energy Science is the successful completion of the Bachelor's program in Energy Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen or an equivalent or comparable program in the field of energy sciences.

The majority of international applicants must pass the "German Language Examination for University Entrance" (DSH 2 level; with a few exceptions) before beginning their studies.
