What to prepare for your application to Geology
a certified copy of the primary university degree certificate;
a certified copy of a detailed transcript of all coursework and examinations undertaken during the primary university degree studies – listing all courses, credit points and grades (i.e. a transcript of records);
in the case the B.Sc. programme has not been completed yet, please include a provisional, but
official transcript showing all courses, credit points and grades of the courses taken so far. Also include proof, that you have started your B.Sc. thesis, or at the very least, your registration to carry out your thesis;
a certified copy of the certificate for the general higher education entrance qualification, a relevant subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification, or the qualification for access to higher education from another country;
if applicable, certificates of a professional training, employment or a stay abroad (you can hand in simple copies)
curriculum vitae in summary form in English (max. 2 pages)
motivation letter (Statement of Intent) in English explaining why you have chosen the masters programme (max. 2 pages),
a signed statement in German or English, which certifies the motivation letter was prepared selfdependent and without external help. The statement also needs to assure that the content which
was copied from external sources is clearly marked
a recognized language test, which certifies the level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (TOEFL itb 79, IELTS band 6, Cambridge Certificate of Advanced
English or others); language course certificates are not accepted.

(a) They must have earned a primary undergraduate degree at a German or foreign university with a grade point average of at least 2.7 in a Bachelor's or equivalent degree programme of at least three years' duration in earth sciences or environmental sciences,
Undergraduate studies of at least 3 years. B.Sc. in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geosciences, Mineralogy, Environmental Sciences, Natural Sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Biology).
Including courses with a total of 40 ECTS points in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences.
