Admission Requirements
(1) Admission to the Master of Arts in Archaeological Sciences program in one of the four disciplines of Prehistoric and Early History Archaeology, Classical Archaeology, Provincial Roman Archaeology, and Byzantine Archaeology is open to applicants who:
1\. have obtained a first degree from a German university in a bachelor's program with a focus corresponding to the intended discipline of the master's program or in an equivalent degree program of at least three years at a German or foreign university that meets the qualifying requirements specified in paragraph 2,
2\. have knowledge of German and English that corresponds to at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, and
3\. have knowledge of another relevant modern foreign language that corresponds to at least level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
(2) The applicant must provide evidence that, as part of the university studies leading to the first degree (paragraph 1, no. 1), they have successfully completed courses totaling at least 40 ECTS credits in at least one and no more than two of the following subjects: Prehistoric and Early History Archaeology, Classical Archaeology, Provincial Roman Archaeology, and Byzantine Archaeology. The Admissions Committee will decide on the recognition of credits comparable to those required under sentence 1.
