Applicants who have professionel agricultural experience may provide proof of this.
The admission to the master program is granted on the grounds that a BSc of at least 3 years duration in Agriculture or other related degrees at an accredited institution in or outside Germany has been completed. Other related degrees must prove a minimum of 60 ECTS in plant sciences, animal sciences, resource management, sciences or economic- and social sciences.
Applicants who have studied subjects like botany, biochemistry, horticulture, biodiversity, ecology, nature conservation, molecular and cell biology, biotechnology or subjects less related to agriculture are not eligible.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with at least band 6
Confirmation letter on English proficiency due to previous studies in English written by universities' registrar will not be sufficient as proof of adequate English language skills.
What to prepare for your application to SIA - Sustainable International Agriculture
1. Curriculum Vitae with Passport-size photograph:
Complete and signed.
2. Proof of proficiency in English:
Applicants whose native language is not English are asked to submit a proof of proficiency in English (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, GRE Scores).
3. Official academic transcripts:
Copies of transcripts and degree certificates in English or German from all colleges/ universities attended.

Applicants from EU-countries who have not completed their B.Sc. yet by the time of application must prove a minimum of 150 ECTS. The BSc certificate plus final transcript must then be submitted latest within 4 weeks after the lectures have started.
For China and Vietnam, only APS-proven (https://www.aps.org.cn/web/indexe.jsp) academic transcript and degree certificates are accepted for application.
After September 2022 for India only APS-proven (www.aps-india.de) academic transcript and degree certificates are accepted for application.

Admission process
The admission or selection process involves several steps:
Selection of applications with regard to their completeness and to certified copies and transcripts.
Acknowledgement of foreign degrees by the ‘commission for the acknowledgement of foreign degrees’.
Your academic potential, your proficiency in English and your letter of motivation will make you a promising candidate for the assessing selection committee.
After the deadline all eligible applications are ranked according to the grade obtained in the BSc. The applicants ranked highest will be admitted.
Each year letters of admission/rejection will be sent in May (non-EU) or September (EU).
Confirmation of acceptance of the study place is obligatory within two weeks after admission and can be made by starting the process of enrolment within the portal.
The selection committee will rank 80 percent of the candidates according to points given for BSc grade, motivation, reference letters, and any other supporting qualifications. 20 percent will be ranked after interview to assess the candidate's suitability. Applicants selected for interview will be informed accordingly.
When will you get informed whether you have been admitted or not?
