University of Hamburg Hamburg
The European Master in Classical Cultures is an international Master of Arts in ancient studies. You study at two or three universities with different languages, and you earn the Master's title of each university where you completed the required work. Twelve universities in nine countries take part, including Germany, France, Greece, Italy and Turkey. The core covers ancient history, classical philology and archaeology, with deeper areas in language and method. You gain a deep understanding of the history, literature and material legacy of Greek and Roman antiquity around the Mediterranean, build language and intercultural skills, do internships at institutions such as the German Archaeological Institute, and get support through a mentoring programme. It lasts four semesters, is taught in German and starts in winter. Graduates can go on to a doctorate or to cultural work in organisations, associations and foundations.
