How to apply
University degree • a degree in one of the bachelor’s programs in Geophysics/Oceanography, Meteorology, Earth Sciences, or Geography from the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics, and Natural Sciences at the University of Hamburg or • a degree in another natural science bachelor's program may also be accepted, provided that coursework equivalent to approximately 90 credit points in subjects comparable to the curriculum of the aforementioned programs can be demonstrated. If you have not received your degree certificate yet, you can submit this by the end of the first semester of your master’s program.

Additional special admission requirements Proof of proficiency in English: • English B.Sc. or M.Sc. • TOEFL internet-based test\*: minimum score of 90 (with a minimum sub score of 20 for Listening, Comprehension, Speaking and Writing) • IELTS\*: at least band 6.5 (with a minimum sub score of 6.0 for Listening, Comprehension, Speaking and Writing) • CEFR\* Level C1 (with individual sub scores of at least C1 for Listening, Comprehension, Speaking and Writing) \* Please note that language tests should have been taken no longer than two years prior to enrollment.
