M.Sc. Environmental Modelling

Environmental Modelling is a German-taught Master of Science at the University of Oldenburg, with some modules in English. It takes 4 semesters, admission is free and you start in the winter semester. The research-oriented programme teaches you to develop models, data analysis methods and decision support systems, covering modern environmental modelling, environmental analysis and environmental informatics. It links an understanding of environmental systems to economic and social issues, with a special emphasis on methods from mathematics, the natural sciences and informatics. Everyone takes Introduction to Environmental Modelling and modules on environmental systems, then chooses process and system oriented modelling, statistical modelling, or environmental informatics. It is run by the Centre for Environmental Modelling, and you join research from the start. Requirements include a degree in sciences, mathematics, economics, computing science or environmental science. Applicants from outside Germany also need German at DSH-2 or TestDaF 4.
