Basic knowledge from the previous degree course: biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, process technology / chemical engineering and instrumental analytics (5 EC each; at least 45 EC in total).
Relevant practical experience lasting a minimum of 18 weeks, by completing a practical study semester, or professional or research experience directly connected to biotechnology or bioengineering in industry or research / development institutes.
Above-average degree results with a minimum overall examination mark of 'good' (better than 2.6 in the German grading system) or among the top 50%
Undergraduate German studies or demonstration of sufficient minimum language skills equivalent to Level B2 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference.

What to prepare for your application to Bioengineering & Biotechnology
Students can apply for the Master's programme if they meet the following admission criteria:
Suitable, completed Bachelor's degree with 210 EC or at least 180 EC plus requirements: This applies to you if you have a Bachelor's degree in natural sciences or engineering or have studied Biotechnology at HSWT or Bioengineering at HM.
Basic knowledge from previous degree programme: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Process Engineering / Chemical Engineering and Instrumental Analysis 5 ECTS each and in total at least 45 ECTS
Relevant practical experience of at least 18 weeks, through completion of a practical study semester or experience with clear reference to biotechnology or bioengineering in industry or research and development institutions
Above-average degree with an overall examination grade of at least "good" (better than 2.6) or among the best 50 % students
German-language basic studies or proof of sufficient minimum language skills according to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Preliminary examination documentation (VPD) by uni-assist if the first degree was obtained abroad

Completed degree in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or similar, with 210 ECTS or at least 180 EC plus conditions and the grade 'good' (2.5) or better, at least 18 weeks of relevant industrial practical experience as part of a work placement or practical semester.
