How to apply
What you need to apply for Master in International Marketing at Technical University Nuremberg (TH Nuremberg)
▪ Proficiency in English: Each student is required (no matter what educational background, unless you are native speaker i.e. U.S. American, Australian or British) to submit a test result of their English proficiency by obtaining a language certificate mentioned below:
▪ TOEFL (paper-based test): score 580
▪ TOEFL (computer test): score 237
▪ TOEFL (internet-based test): score 92
▪ TOEIC (Our in-house TOEIC test (Link) takes place in February, June, September and December of each year):
score 765
▪ IELTS 7.0
▪ Cambridge CAE Grade C
▪ GMAT score 550 or better

In case you get accepted you will have to turn in your final bachelor certificate latest by the end of the first semester.

An internship in marketing of at least 20 weeks or practical work experience in marketing of at least 6 months.
Applicants who have no prior international exposure will have the opportunity to spend their third study term (for the Master's thesis) abroad.

A first Diploma/Bachelor degree from a full business or economics program (focus on marketing) with an average of 1.5 or better (according to the German grading system). We are using the Bavarian formula to convert your grade.)
If your grades are between 1.5 and 2.5 in the German grading system you have to participate and pass the General Management Admission Test (min. GMAT score 550), equivalent GRE or our own Master Admission Test.
You are only allowed to take our own Management Admission Test when you are residing inside of Germany and you got specifically invited to join the test. This test takes place on January 20th, 2020.
> The test takes 90 minutes (90 achievable points). It includes short answer questions, multiple choice questions (one correct answer out of five) and short essay. All questions are based on the following book and concentrate on the listed chapters/pages:
Each student has to submit (independent of the educational background) a sufficient test result obtained in one of the internationally accepted English language tests mentioned below.
Exceptions:

Step 1: Register on the Nuremberg Tech HISinOne application portal.
To apply for a degree program at Nuremberg Tech, you need to have an account on the HISinOne application portal. You will need to provide a valid e-mail address that all information about your application will be sent to.
Register on the HISinOne application portal and then use the login data you receive by e-mail to activate your personal account. Please create only one account – after registering once, you will be able to apply for all degree programs accepting applications within the application periods.
Step 2: Apply for admission to one or more degree programs & submit your documents
Now that you are registered, you can apply for places in the degree programs of your choice in the the HISinOne application portal. Note that you can only apply for programs during the respective application periods. To apply, you must first login to the HISinOne application portal (on the top right of the page) using the login information you received when you registered.
During the application process, you will be required to indicate your higher education entrance qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung in German, or HZB for short). Information on the various types of higher education entrance qualifications can be found under Admission requirements.
You will find any admission requirements that are specific to your chosen program detailed on the respective program page. Please note that you have to upload all documents within the application period.
Please note that we have to reject incomplete applications without further consideration.

If you have not graduated yet, you can upload your (preliminary) transcript of records and submit the certified copies (and translation) of your graduation documents later.

Step 3: Accept your place in a degree program
At the end of the application process, in your application account, you will be able to download your notification of acceptance (i.e. the confirmation that you have secured a place) or the rejection of your application. You will also receive an e-mail about this step.
In your application account, you will find a list of notifications of acceptance for all the degree programs to which you have applied and been offered a place.
You can now definitively accept an offer for a place in one degree program by clicking on “Annehmen”, accept.
Step 4: Enrol in your degree program (immatriculation)
Now all you need to do is to enrol for the study place you have accepted online. Only after you enrol (immatriculate), you do become a member of the Nuremberg Institute of Technology and receive student status.
First, you must enrol online. After doing so, you will find your Antrag auf Immatrikulation / Request for Enrolment in the Nuremberg Tech HISinOne application portal as a PDF. Print out this PDF document and sign it. Then send the request and the documents listed as required in that form to the Student Advisory Service at Nuremberg Tech before the deadline specified. Please make sure you include all required documents and avoid including any other documents.
If you are unable to personally sign and send your enrolment documents to Nuremberg Tech within the specified period, you may task someone else with signing and submitting your postal enrolment. In this case, just include a simple proxy statement document with your documents (e.g. “I authorize Mr/Ms... to enrol me in the program ...”). Both you and the person you authorize to carry out your enrolment should, however, be aware that any error or omission on the part of your authorized representative will lead to your exclusion from enrolment in just the same way as an error or omission of your own would.
If you are below the age of majority at the point in time at which you enrol, you must have your legal guardian sign your Request for Enrolment.
Step 5: Your Enrolment Confirmation and your OHMcard (student ID card)
As soon as your enrolment application has been processed and your eligibility for admission has been verified, you will find your enrolment documents (your preliminary confirmation of enrolment and your login information for the university IT system) ready to download in your application account.
You will also receive your OHMcard (student ID card) – either directly at the introductory sessions in your Faculty or afterwards from the Faculty office upon presentation of a current ID.
If you are already enrolled at Nuremberg Tech and have only changed to a different degree program, a new OHMcard will not be issued.
1. Accept your place in a degree program
At the end of the application process, in your application account, you want to download your notification of acceptance (ie, the confirmation that you have secured a place) or the rejection of your application. So you want to receive an e-mail about this step.
In your application account, you will find a list of notifications for all degree programs.
