International Economics at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin) is a three-semester, full-time Master of Arts worth 90 ECTS, taught in English and starting in the winter semester on 1 October. It is for people interested in global economic problems who want to understand international economic policy, international economic relations and the international currency system. You explore international macroeconomic issues such as global and regional imbalances, macroeconomic instability, inequality and ecological limits to economic activity, with a pluralist view that includes heterodox approaches. The first semester covers macroeconomics, international economics, development economics and global governance. The second includes a project seminar on current issues and three electives, such as econometrics, feminist economics or ecological economics modelling. The third is for your thesis and oral exam. It suits economics graduates aiming for public or private organisations, international companies, economic associations, unions, public administration or doctoral study.
