What you need to apply for Biodiversity, Evolution, Ecology at Free University of Berlin (FU Berlin)
Language certificate in English (level C1 CEFR) for applicants whose native language is not English and who have not obtained their university degree at an educational institution where English is the language of instruction.
For the Master's degree program Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies, proof of German language skills on the level B2 CEFR is required for application only.
German Skills for the Studienkolleg
In general, it is advisable to submit a proof of German language skills at level C1, as only the evaluation of the university entrance qualification (HZB) will determine whether you have to attend the Studienkolleg or can apply for a degree program directly.
However, if you are sure that you have not obtained a direct HZB with your certificate from your home country and you need to attend the Studienkolleg, German proficiency at level B2 is sufficient.
For level B2 CEFR the following proofs are accepted:
DSH-1
TestDaF with at least level 3 in all four parts
B2 CEFR certificate with grades from a language school
language evaluation test, which attests skills at level B2 CEFR
proof of attendance for C1 language course (ongoing or completed course)
Proof of German language skills must be uploaded to the uni-assist application portal by the application deadline.
first qualifying German university degree or equivalent foreign degree in biology, Geosciences, Horticulture, Forest Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Bioinformatics, Veterinary Medicine or another natural science university degree with proof of modules with a total of at least 30 credit points from the field of Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution in a quantitative and qualitative scope comparable to the Bachelor's degree program in Biology of the Department of Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy of Freie Universität Berlin. Of these, at least 10 credit points should be practical experience in laboratory and/or field work
Language certificate in English (level C1 CEFR) for applicants whose native language is not English and who have not obtained their university degree at an educational institution where English is the language of instruction.
Proof of German language skills (level A1 CEFR) for applicants who obtained their degree at a foreign university or equivalent institution or in a non-German-speaking degree program
