What you need to apply for ECONOMETRICS - MASTER OF SCIENCE at Technical University Dortmund (TU Dortmund)
level of B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Unfortunately, the application period for our Master in Econometrics ended on August 20, we do not allow any late applications. You could apply for winter 2021/22, the application period will start in March.
In general: You do not need your final documents. However, you have to have passed all the exams, and you need an official documents saying so.

1\. A certificate of a degree from a study program in statistics, economics or mathematics at Ruhr-University Bochum, TU Dortmund University or at the University of Duisburg-Essen or a certificate of a comparable degree in related fields, including a transcript of records, according to the requirements of the examination regulations:
(a) The study program must have included an amount of work of at least 180 credit points (ECTS) in statistics, economics or mathematics. At least 15 points according to the ECTS have to be certified in the field of economics and also in the field of mathematics/statistics. The acceptance will be decided by the examining board.
A BSc or equivalent degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline is required. Knowledge in the field of economics (at least 15 ECTS credits) and in the area of mathematics, statistics, econometrics and empirical economic research (at least 25 ECTS credits) is a prerequisite.
(b) A certificate of a comparable degree from another German university or or from another country will be accepted, according to national regulations. If their originals are neither in English nor German, an offical transcript to German or English language, furnished by an official translator, has to be included. In this case, an explanation of the grading system is also required.
(c) The transcript of records must include the grades as well as the credit points collected. Each topic should be clearly identified. The required degree has to be completed with a final grade of "good" (2.7) or better according to the German grade system or an equivalent final grade in case of a degree from another country.
(d) Application prior to concession of the graduation certificate is generally possible, provided that the fulfillment of all requirements is proved by other university documents.
2\. A certificate documenting an English language proficiency
Every applicant must complete a self-assessment. However, this assessment is not a test that you can fail: we want applicants to assess their knowledge of statistics, economics, and econometrics so that specific pre-courses can be taken, if necessary.

What to prepare for your application to ECONOMETRICS - MASTER OF SCIENCE

6. After the planned establishment of an online self-assessment, the certificate of its completion will be required in future.

Please note: It is necessary for the application documents to contain the proof of participation in the online self-assessment to reflect your own level of knowledge and the professional requirements of the Master's degree program in Econometrics. However, the result of the test has no influence on a possible admission decision.

Procedure: apply at the International Office
Deadline: February 1 to July 15 for the winter term and January 15 for the summer term. We recommend an early application, as we need a few weeks to process your application and you may have to take care of a visa and an apartment in Germany afterwards.
Required documents: a list of the required documents can be found on the website of the International Office linked above. Further required documents for the Master in Econometrics are: English language certificate, the proof of the online self-assessment, and a maximum of three pages presentation of your previous academic career. At the end of the self-assessment submission you will receive the Certificate of Attendance, which (the Certificate, not your results) you need to attach to your application.
Procedure: you first apply online to the International Office. There is no need to send documents by post. Your application will be forwarded to us for examination. As there are a lot of international applicants, this can take several weeks or even months. You will then receive the admission decision from the International Office and may enroll in our degree program. You can find all information on enrollment here.
