What you need to apply for Master's Programme in Physics at University of Konstanz
English skills level B2, proved by either: TOEFL-test (87 points or more/internet-based), IELTS (score 5.5 or better), or Cambridge First Certificate (Grade C or better).
Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache (TestDAF) at least "Stufe 3" in all four areas or Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH) at least "Stufe 1"
An above-average bachelor's degree in physics or a related subject at an institution of higher education or Berufsakademie or equivalent institution (abroad).
Academic performance assessments in modules that cover the contents of the modules Integrierter Kurs (IK) III or Integrierter Kurs IV (integrated courses III or IV) of the Bachelor's Programme in Physics at the University of Konstanz (see attachment or module guide physics bachelor).

Mandatory admission examination
The examination consists of individual modules of the areas experimental physics and theoretical physics. The examination is an oral examination and lasts 45 minutes per area.

Building on the bachelor's programme, the master's programme first broadens your foundations in physics. In the advanced lab courses, you expand competencies that are important for working in the laboratory. Furthermore, you specialize in a specific area of physics through elective lectures, seminars and the master's thesis.
To apply for the Master's degree program in Physics, you do not have to provide mandatory proof of foreign language skills. However, since a large part of the research literature is written in English, a good knowledge of English is highly recommended.

Coursework and examinations can be completed in both German and English.
