How to apply
What you need to apply for Physics at University of Munster
Candidates must provide proof of their language skills in English at level B2 (CEFR) or equivalent.
Proof of completion of a first degree to at least B.Sc. level (see § 3 (1)). If at the time
of application the degree certificate is not yet available, then a provisional certificate
must be submitted which lists at least the grades for the first five semesters
(constituting a minimum of 120 Leistungspunkte (credits)). If the university does not
issue provisional certificates, then a Transcript of Records will suffice provisionally.
The actual degree certificate must be presented at enrolment in the case of
admission into the Master’s programme.

Applicants with a Bachelor of Science in Physics or a similar degree in physics or in a study course with a high share of experimental and theoretical physics with a grade of at least _Satisfactory_ (“Befriedigend” in the German system) can be admitted to the Master’s course. In case of incomplete equivalence with the BSc course in Physics at the University of Münster, the approval can be granted under the condition to complete additional studies to comply with the requirements.
The application for admission to the Master’s Course in Physics has to be submitted online to the Student Admissions Office of the University of Münster. For applicants from Germany, the EU/EEA, and Non-EU/Non-EEA countries the deadline is 15 September for the winter semester and 15 March for the summer semester.
What to prepare for your application to Physics
1. Proof of a general university entrance qualification or of an appropriate subjectspecific university entrance qualification.
2. Proof of completion of a first degree to at least B.Sc. level (see § 3
(1)). 4. List of completed Studien- and Prüfungsleistungen (required coursework and degree-relevant examinations, e.g. Transcript of Records of the first degree).
5. Proof of adequate German or English language skills
6. If applicable: further documents demonstrating the aptitude and motivation for the desired programme (e.g. job references, documentation of work experience or other relevant additional qualifications).
