M.A. Visual Anthropology, Media and Documentary Practices

Visual Anthropology, Media and Documentary Practices is an international Master of Arts at the University of Münster's professional school. Over three years it trains you in the theory and practice of visual anthropology, the documentary arts (film, photography and installation), and media culture and media anthropology. You study the theoretical and practical foundations of the field and gain experience in film production, project development and audio-visual installation, with modules taught in blocks, an internship and a thesis usually accompanied by a practical media project. Graduates apply this in academia, the arts, culture and media industries, and social, applied or educational media projects. The programme is taught in English. It suits you if you want to understand how media representations shape the world and turn that into your own research and media work.
