University of Oldenburg Oldenburg
Chemistry is a German-taught, research-oriented Master of Science at the University of Oldenburg. It takes 4 semesters, admission is free, and you can start in winter or summer. All modules are compulsory electives, so you can either keep a broad advanced chemistry profile or focus on molecular chemistry or chemistry at interfaces, such as catalysis, electrochemistry and photochemistry. Topics span organic, metal-organic and inorganic molecular chemistry, including synthesis, analysis, reaction mechanisms, homogeneous catalysis, sustainable chemistry and materials chemistry, and heterogeneous reactions at surfaces. Neighbouring institutes add options in environmental analytical chemistry, circular economy and informatics. Modules include lectures, exercises, excursions and research lab courses from the inorganic, organic, physical and theoretical, and technical chemistry divisions, with a recommended semester abroad. Requirements include a degree in chemistry or a closely related field. Applicants from outside Germany also need German at DSH-2 or TestDaF 4.
