• Degree certificate or provisional Transcript of Records

If you are still studying when you apply and cannot yet provide a final certificate containing

2 FAKULTÄT MATHEMATIK, INFORMATIK UND NATURWISSENSCHAFTEN your grades, please submit your current Transcript of Records confirming your provisional grade point average. You will then need to submit your degree certificate by the end of the

first semester of your master’s program.

• English language certificate.

If applicable - Proof of additional qualification, see selection criteria b to h below.

Selection Criteria

If the number of applicants exceeds the number of places available, a selection procedure will be

necessary: then student selection shall be made as follows:

a) Results of the first higher education degree

b) participation in an academic exchange program (eg Erasmus, DAAD),

c) the professional experience in a field relevant to the course of study, as a rule evidenced by

a completed vocational training (master's degree, eg carpenter, carpenter, woodworking

mechanic, timber merchant),

d) the completion of a subject-specific internship in an area attributable to the industry

(examples: carpentry, carpentry, timber trade, forestry) for a period of at least two months,

e) the completion of a stay abroad or several stays abroad (at least 2 months each) with

proven experience in the professional environment of M. Sc. Wood Science or in academic

institutions with a related content to the degree program,

f)

the submission of a justification of the study request, in particular with regard to the

interest in a scientific further education (letter of motivation),

g) being a selected student representative on the Student Council or other university body,

h) Tasks of at least 20 credits from the bachelor's degree program in Bio-Resource

Management or equivalent study credits from other study programs, which are in addition

to the 75 credits relevant for admission.

Lit. b) to g) will improve the higher education degree by 0.1. provided that under lit. h) is

met, this improves the grade by 0,1 per additional 20 credit points. The ranking is based on

the final score calculated from this.
